People often tell me they are worried about the economy, and wonder if they can make it in “difficult” times. I tell them, OF COURSE you can, and let’s figure out how. The news and media may try to keep us living in fear, but you can choose how you let it affect you. If you focus your energy and efforts on what you CAN do, regardless of what’s going on around you, you WILL be successful.
My business has never been stronger. I have many clients and much demand for my work, which I greatly appreciate. People need help now more than ever – they are worrying too much, are not sure what to do to grow their business or life, and often procrastinate. I am happy to be a consistent source of support to teach clients what they can to do turn lemons into lemonade, so to speak. And you can do the same with your clients!
As a self employed practitioner, people STILL need your help. Though they may just be choosier about who they select to spend their money with. SO, it’s important for you to be unique, find ways to reach out and let people know why YOU are the best at what you do, and all of the ways you can support them. Don’t let other negative people distract you, TRUST in your work and take consistent action to grow your business. The tips below should have you well on your way to finding more clients, even during a less ideal economic climate.
Stop focusing on fear and worry:
What you focus on is what you create – it’s a universal law. When you wake up each morning, be grateful for what you do have. And when any fear or worry thoughts come up, simply recognize them as thoughts, and stop them in their tracks. Tell yourself why you CAN do this, and why you deserve to be successful. Shift your focus.
Focus on benefits:
Your potential client needs to know what you can offer them, and why your work is worth the investment. It’s important to keep a benefits oriented focus in your marketing efforts. Present people with the idea that YOU can help them feel better every day, and how much value this adds to their life. Give them what they want, and make that the foundation of your marketing.
Offer group programs:
Group work is a great way for you to offer a lower price point, yet make more money per hour. Forming group programs, online classes and teleseminar series are effective tools to add to your service offering. This will attract more clients, as you are able to offer other ways to work with you, especially if people are not yet ready to invest in one-on-one programs.
Provide special bonuses:
When you offer a program to a potential client, you may want to consider providing bonuses. Perhaps adding on a free service, some type of advanced level of support, something the client will perceive as a high dollar value, yet it is included for no extra charge. One very simple way is to offer free email support, for client questions between sessions or appointments. I, for example, offer free classes and other special bonuses to my clients.
Invest in yourself:
If you see the world around you as “not enough”, then you are only affirming more of what you don’t want. Take some time to challenge your old money beliefs. And think about how you can grow yourself and your business. Spending money on your own personal and professional growth is a true investment. Money is an energetic flow.
