Former George Wythe High School star Larry McCoy has experienced success this season at Duquesne University.

Once more, Larry McCoy has taken his game to another level.
The former George Wythe High School football standout, who then went on to have an outstanding collegiate career at Duquesne University, has recently signed a contract to play professional football in Germany.
In fact, McCoy plans to take a flight tomorrow to Germany to begin preparation for the upcoming season. McCoy will play for the Berlin Rebels. The team is in the Division 1 of the GFL (German Football League) in Germany, the top football league in the country. The season begins in late April and continues through September.
McCoy said he has never been to Germany but has immediate plans to learn how to speak German. And he is looking forward to learning about the German culture.
While McCoy acknowledged that soccer is still the number one sport throughout Europe, he said that American football has been growing steadily in many European countries over the years.
“There’s a lot of American football players over there,” said McCoy, who has a best friend who’s going over there to play for another German Division 1 team. They’re in different leagues, but could possibly meet later in the playoffs. And he said a former quarterback from Duquesne is also playing on a pro team in Finland.
