Not out of a awareness of rivalry but because it is easy to be aware of the pleasure people get from running their own business, and their own lives.
In reality there are for ever and a day a blend of features at play and no two distinctive entrepreneur conform to the same style; in a significant corporation people become institutionalized but with your own venture you get to do things your own way and prompt the staff you have (assuming you have any).
